The 2017 Mandala Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc Story

Originating from the Bordeaux region of France, Sauvignon Blanc is a green-skinned grape, white wine variety which has gained a popular following here in Australia. Victoria's cool regions produce clean, vibrant Sauvignon Blancs, with those in the Yarra Valley region producing a fullness and tropical fruit centre which distinctly divides from the "typical" Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting Notes

This Sauvignon Blanc is made with our "Orchard Block" fruit which is a cooler section of our vineyard at Dixon's Creek previously home to pears and apples. The aromas deliver a fan of tropical fruit, fresh lemon and lime, lemon grass, green pea and freshly-cut grass. The flavours develop across green apples, kiwifruit and pineapple bursts. A firm natural acidity, layered palate and a lovely, easy softness. A crisp, citrus finish combines with savoury elements to give the wine length and complexity. 13% alc/vol.
