The 2014 'The Prophet' Pinot Noir Story

Following the establishment of Charles' first vineyard up at Yarra Junction back in 1999, Charles' grandmother sent a vision of rolling hills and vines to Charles' mother in a dream ahead of the family's first visit to the Dixon's Creek vineyard in 2006. The family haven't looked back since, and "The Prophet" Pinot Noir is a tribute to the realisation of a dream.

Tasting Notes

Grown in the Upper Yarra at our premium Pinot Noir Yarra Junction vineyard, "The Prophet" is an aromatic blend of cherries and crushed violets, subtle brambly characters and hints of mocha mixed with plums. A finely textured palate with a red and blue berry profile, there's a slight smoky impact on the finish.

The Pinot fruit was hand-pruned and hand-harvested for intact of the berries, cold soaked for four days and inoculated with Burgundian yeast to ferment in half tonne batches. Transferred to 50% new French oak for 12 months maturation prior to blending and bottling. 11.8% alc/vol.
